Watery existence
As if all the fucking rain hasn’t been bad enough…last night I got my bike clothes on, and headed down to the basement to do some trainer intervals. I got situated on the bike and started spinning. I then noticed a dripping sound coming from the vicinity of my water heater. I dismounted to investigate. There was a huge puddle under and around the water heater. What the hell.
Faulty relief valve. I started messing with and jiggling said valve. All of a sudden, steaming water just started pouring out full blast, like when you turn a garden hose on. I was standing there, watching my basement fill up with hot water. I found the supply shut off valve, which was not located in a convenient place, but finally got the deluge to stop.
After a trip to Home Depot and some monkeying around with things that I really don’t know about (as well as using some tools for purposes for which they were not intended), I think its fixed- 2 hours later.
Bottom line is I still didn’t get to do my trainer intervals…argh.
